Badlands National Park is a national park located in southwestern South Dakota, United States, established on November 10, 1978.

The park spans over 242,756 acres and is home to sharply eroded buttes and pinnacles, along with the largest undisturbed mixed grass prairie in the United States.

The park’s North Unit is designated as a wilderness area and is home to the black-footed ferret, one of the most endangered mammals in the world. This unique national park showcases a striking and otherworldly landscape shaped by geological forces, erosion, and millions of years of history.
